TUESDAY 26 MAY
This video does a good job at presenting a relatively brief (25 minute) basic account of the Vietnam War. Includes some great photographs. (I apologize for the periodic commercial breaks.)
WEDNESDAY 27 MAY
The next three days you'll see a series of videos that make up the documentary "Dear Amercia: Letters Home From Vietnam." It is hands down the best video about Vietnam, and perhaps of ANY war, I have ever seen, because the war is examined and explained through the letters of the soldiers who fought to stay alive every day. It is indeed a different, and important, perspective than reading conventional histories, which are about little more than politics and battles.
War is never about these things. It is ALWAYS about the young people who fight them. That's why I feel that this video series is so important to all generations of young people.
Each video is about 10-12 minutes long. The series includes a fantastic 1960s music soundtrack. Very much worth your time.

This is a relatively all-inclusive, lengthy PowerPoint that focuses on the social aspects of Section 4. There is nothing about Jackson in here; you'll need to reference the "Dawning of Demographic America" for that. There is a powerful examination of slavery in here.
